Page 1 of 2 Sunday, June 10th, 3PM, Skokie Public Library "We must NEVER FORGET that we must be a force for peace," says Marion Rosenberg, the Founder of the Universal Dream of Peace, a movement that does no fund raising and is not affiliated with any political group. "We are all children of the creator. I ache for kindness, instead of cryptic responses to each other’s errors. The great Buddha once said, “Anger is like onto a hot coal, intending to fling it at someone. Instead we get burnt.”
I am a 72-year-old woman trying to make a difference in the world. I am on a mission to bring people to find a common ground, work together with brotherly and sisterly love.
We must educate ourselves to know more about the world and the different people. Prejudice must be peacefully wiped out by knowledge and the understanding that we can all disagree, but must remember the ways in which we are the same. I have lived through WWII, Vietnam War, and the war in Iraq. I have lived through the fear of losing people dear to my heart in wars. The aftermath of misery and hatred has brought fear, carnage disruption of families, and the financial burden on those left behind. If that is not enough, the war zone from gangs shootings and killings has brought anger and road rage. Genocide in Darfur of the Sudan still continues in 2006. Thus far 900,000 lives have been butchered.
I hope Sunday, June 10th will spark you to make simple changes for you life style in order to bring Peace, Health for yourselves, the children, and the planet.
Have you ever walked into a room and gotten up tight and found out there was just an argument? Have you ever walked into a room where you feel good? There was laughter or love. You had a great feeling without knowing why.
